Dan Gerrity

Dan Gerrity is the senior vice president of developer services for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Dan joined Oracle in January 2020 to build and lead a team with the mission of getting developers onto OCI’s platform and seeing them through to production applications running at scale. This mission includes CNCF-influenced services such as Kubernetes, streaming, logging, events, and API management. Before Oracle, Dan spent five years at AWS building platforms. A developer for most of his life, he founded and led several startups that ultimately took advantage of cloud services offered by multiple clouds. He has an MBA, an MS in electrical engineering and computer systems, and a BS in electrical engineering—all from Stanford University. Dan also has more than 60 patents in technologies ranging from coin discrimination through CPU instruction set design.

Rajesh Viswanathan

Rajesh Viswanathan is vice president of cloud native services in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). He leads the engineering and product teams responsible for OCI’s container native, serverless, and API services portfolio. This includes Oracle Container Engine for Kubernetes, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Container Registry, Oracle Functions, and Oracle API Gateway as well as related API services such as Apiary and Oracle API Platform Cloud Service. Rajesh has been at Oracle for more than two years. Previously, he spent eight years at AWS building and operating cloud services in the resource provisioning, governance, and compliance space as well as lower down in the stack with AWS’ Elastic Block Store service. He also brings more than 15 years of experience working on storage back ends, real-time streaming, and personalization technologies at Microsoft and Netscape/AOL.

Louis Bernardo

Louis Bernardo is a senior cybersecurity architect at SIEMonster and has more than 20 years of experience in the information security industry. He is regarded as one of South Africa’s specialists in threat intelligence, analysis, and SIEM implementations. Louis holds a master’s degree in information security with a specialization in threat analysis from Rhodes University. He also authored the academic research thesis “Targeted Attack Detection by Means of Free and Open Source Solutions.”

Rolando Carrasco
Rolando Carrasco CTO, S&P Solutions

Rolando Carrasco is the CTO of S&P Solutions, a Mexican consulting firm that partners with Oracle in the Latin American market. He has more than 20 years of technology experience and has worked for respected companies such as HP and Oracle. He is an Oracle Groundbreaker and an Oracle ACE Director focusing on API management, DevOps, service orientation, digital transformation, serverless, chatbots and microservices. Rolando has been a frequent speaker at Oracle OpenWorld and is a consistent contributor to the Oracle community with blogs, videos, webinars, podcasts, presentations, and event coordination. He is coauthor of the book Oracle API Management 12c Implementation, published by PACKT in 2015, and has contributed to three books in the past three years as a technical reviewer.

Cornelia Davis
Cornelia Davis CTO, Weaveworks; Author, Cloud Native Patterns: Designing Change Tolerant Software

As the CTO at WeaveWorks, Cornelia Davis is responsible for the company’s technology strategy, inclusive of open source projects, commercial products, and services offerings. She is driven by the desire to help enterprises transform their business through the leverage of cloud platforms. She cut her teeth in the space of modern application platforms at Pivotal where she was on teams that brought Pivotal Cloud Foundry (Pivotal’s PaaS) and Pivotal Container Service (Pivotal’s Kubernetes service) to market. Cornelia currently serves on the Technical Oversight Committee of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. She is the author of the book Cloud Native Patterns: Designing Change-Tolerant Software.

An industry veteran with almost three decades of experience in image processing, scientific visualization, distributed systems, web application architectures, and cloud native platforms, Cornelia holds a BS and MS in computer science from California State University, Northridge and further studied theory of computing and programming languages at Indiana University.

When she’s not doing those things, you can find her on the yoga mat or in the kitchen.

Antonio Nappi
Antonio Nappi DevOps Engineer, CERN

Antonio Nappi is a DevOps Engineer at CERN. Since joining CERN, he has worked with clouds and virtualization. He is responsible for migrating the CERN Application Service—that hosts critical CERN Java applications—to Kubernetes and Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) technologies such as Prometheus, Fluentd, and ArgoCD. He has shared his thoughts on the CNCF landscape in different conferences around the world.

Leonel Romero Briceño
Leonel Romero Briceño Solutions Architect, Banco de Chile

A Venezuelan Informatics Engineer and former Oracle consultant, Leonel Romero Briceño is currently a solutions architect at Banco de Chile responsible for designing, proposing, and validating mobile, internet, middleware, and cloud solutions. Leonel is part of the bank’s Center of Excellence for Architecture and Middleware. In his more than 10 years of IT experience, he’s held roles as a Java programmer, technical leader, and integration and middleware specialist. Over the past two years, Leonel has served as a solution architect to banking and insurance companies in Venezuela, Colombia, the US, and Chile.

Prianna Ahsan is a principal member of technical staff, working on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). She joined Oracle by way of the DataScience.com acquisition in 2018. At DataScience.com, she wrote and designed much of the platform’s scheduling and orchestration layer. After helping design the data plane for the OCI Data Science Notebooks Service, she decided that her knowledge of containerization and distributed systems was a great fit for Oracle Kubernetes Engine. She’s currently working on the design for Oracle’s serverless Kubernetes platform.

Randall Barnes

Randall Barnes is a solutions architect at Oracle. Currently, he is a member of the OCI Observability product engineering team charged with delivering solutions to help developers design, refactor, and migrate complex enterprise application ecosystems to the cloud. Prior to Oracle, Randall spent a lengthy stretch at Microsoft as a senior development lead within the SQL Server and Azure engineering organizations.

David Cabelus
David Cabelus Senior Principal Product Manager, Oracle

Dave Cabelus is a senior principal product manager in the enterprise cloud native Java group at Oracle. Dave’s responsibilities include product strategy and direction for Verrazzano, an open source enterprise container management platform. In the industry since 1996 and involved in Java since 1999, Dave worked at various software companies including Logic Works, Platinum Software, Kana, and a few startups before coming to Oracle via the BEA acquisition in 2001. He is based in New Jersey and lives in eastern Pennsylvania.

JR Gauthier
JR Gauthier Senior Principal Product Data Scientist, Oracle

Jean-René Gauthier is a senior principal product data scientist and a member of the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Data Science product team. Previously at DataScience.com, Jean-René designed the model management features and roadmap for the DataScience.com platform. In addition, he managed a team of data experts that developed algorithms and analytics models to solve customers’ unique business problems. He was also responsible for educating clients on these algorithms and models, ensuring that they were incorporated into the business to add maximum value. Prior to his three years at DataScience.com, Jean-René was a data scientist at AuriQ Systems where he focused on online marketing analytics and data engineering, often involving high-speed processing of massive data sets. He holds a PhD in astrophysics from the University of Chicago and was a Millikan fellow at the California Institute of Technology.

Maciej Gruszka
Maciej Gruszka Director, Product Management, Oracle

Maciej Gruszka is a director of product management responsible for running a team of outbound product managers supporting Oracle’s enterprise cloud native Java group. He specializes in Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Coherence, Verrazzano, and the Helidon.io project. He has worked as specialist in middleware since 1999. At BEA Systems, Maciej was a senior principal system engineer supporting and evangelizing middleware to BEA’s Eastern European customers. After BEA’s acquisition, he worked in Oracle’s regional competency center for the sales consulting organization as the main Oracle WebLogic specialist. In 2011, he moved to Oracle’s development division where he held the position of product manager for cloud application foundation in EMEA. In 2014, he joined Oracle in California, where he still lives today.

Formerly an engineer, Somnath moved into product management due to a desire to combine his deep passion for business with cutting-edge technology. During his three years on OCI, he launched multiple messaging products including streaming and notifications. He is currently working on launching more services in the cloud messaging space. Prior to this, Somnath worked in the connected car, industrial IoT, and consumer technology spaces as a product manager, strategy consultant, and software engineer.

Devika Nair is the director of product management for the serverless capabilities on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). With more than 10 years of experience in technical product management and cloud services, today she focuses on creating cloud native technologies that help customers modernize their applications. Prior to joining Oracle, Devika was a principal product manager at Amazon Web Services. She has held product and development leadership positions at Sears, Hewlett Packard, and Goldman Sachs. She holds a masters degree from Carnegie Mellon University.

Mark Nelson
Mark Nelson Architect, Oracle

Mark Nelson is an architect on the Oracle Cloud team. He is currently working on Oracle WebLogic Server and cloud technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, and more. His main technology areas of focus are continuous delivery (CD), continuous integration (CI), test automation, containers such as Docker, and container orchestration such as Kubernetes. Mark works both with internal projects and open source projects. He contributes to various open source projects related to Oracle WebLogic Server, including the Kubernetes Operator.

Previously, Mark was an architect for Wercker (Oracle Container Pipelines), a cloud and container-native CI/CD SaaS. Before that, he worked on the central development team for Oracle Fusion Middleware. During this period, Mark’s made Oracle software easier to use by focusing on areas such as CD, configuration management, and provisioning. This made it simple to manage the configuration of complex environments and applications built with Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware, and Oracle Fusion Applications—both on-premises and in the cloud. Prior to that, Mark was a senior member of the A-Team, worked in sales consulting at Oracle, and held various roles at IBM.

Mark has presented at Oracle OpenWorld, various customer advisory boards, and national and state Oracle User Group meetings. Mark owns the popular RedStack blog, has published Oracle whitepapers, a book on Oracle Business Process Management, and is one of the Oracle SOA Certification Exam question authors.

Sachin Pikle is a product strategy director working on serverless capabilities and Oracle Cloud Functions. Previously, he was a product manager for Oracle Microservices, Oracle Cloud Machine, and Oracle Exalogic. He has more than 20 years of experience spanning product management, technology consulting, and application delivery. Prior to joining Oracle, he worked on large application development projects for clients such as Walmart, Westpac, American Express, JP Morgan, and more. He also founded and managed an online ecommerce startup. He was a technical reviewer of the book Microservices for Modern Commerce published by O'Reilly Media in October 2016.

Sudha Raghavan

Sudha Raghaven is a senior director of product development for the observability platform within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). She has worked at Oracle for almost five years and is currently managing teams responsible for OCI’s logging and monitoring services. She enjoys the challenges of running two of the largest scale services across OCI. Sudha is also a founding committee member of the Seattle chapter of Oracle Women’s Leadership (OWL) and is involved in many mentoring activities. Before Oracle, Sudha held various roles at Microsoft, most of them within the Bing search and ads services.

Monica Riccelli
Monica Riccelli Weblogic Server Product Manager, Oracle

Working at Oracle for more than 12 years, Monica Riccelli’s first role was as an engineer for WebLogic Server. Today, she is a product manager for the same product. Monica pioneered the effort to offer Oracle product support in Docker—making Docker images available to customers and supporting WebLogic Server containers in production. More recently, Monica led the effort to certify Oracle WebLogic Server on Kubernetes and deliver the WebLogic Kubernetes ToolKit in open source. The tools—WebLogic Kubernetes Operator, WebLogic Deploy Tooling, WebLogic Image Tool, WebLogic Monitoring Exporter, and WebLogic Logging Exporter—help customers move WebLogic Server applications to Kubernetes and integrate with third-party tools such as Promethus, Grafana, and Elastic Stack for monitoring and diagnosis. Monica has spoken at numerous events including Oracle Open World, DockerCon, KubeCon, and Java One conferences.
